Many years ago, there was a Buddhist priest called Muso kokushi. He travelled from place to place, One day he was walking alone throught some mountains. He lost his way but there was no one to ask for help. Musso for a bed for the night He continue walking when arrived a place where a old man said that in this place don´t found a bed in the next village, musso continued walking when found a little village with 12 houses and he looked that in this houses lived 14 or 15 persons for house. and in one house a headman he recieved the priest kindly. but he was shown into small room a bed and some food.

While he was sleeping heard a strange noises so that went to watch what happen ? they were crying because his father died.
Muso went to the room where dead body, when heard a sound was a monkey that was eat the body the priest was very amazing. the next day the priest continue with his way and he stayed in the mountain meditating

about 250 years ago a rich wine-seller lived in tokyo, that day was a party and his family went for the temple, also the people wore clothes colours and bright. the wine-seller´s daughter saw a samurai in the crowd and inmediatly she fell in love of him. but later she found. None of the other people in her party saw him.
So she ordered a bright purple robe with long arms and she wore all time. When she was at home then she sat in fron of window and she prayed to the buddhas.

then she ill and died the purple robe went to te temple where the priest and he sell a other girl and repeat the story until the priest discover that the purple robe had bad spirits. So that the purple robe was burned while burning appear the words namu myo renge kyo. One by one, the burning characters jumped out of the fire and into the temple roof.

the terrible day is still remembered in tokyo. they call it the day of the great fire of the purple robe.
